Cristiano Ronaldo Closing in on All-Time Champions League Record

Portugese and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on another record in his illustrious career with the 34-year-old on his way to becoming the holder of UEFA’s all-time appearance record holder.

Ronaldo who turned out for Juventus during their 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the competition last night, has now made 175 appearances in all UEFA club competitions, which has ensured that he has moved above Italy and Ac Milan legend, Paolo Maldini in the all-time appearances list in Europe.

The striker is only behind former Real Madrid team-mate, Iker Casillas in the all-time appearances list with the Spaniard appearing 188 times in all UEFA club competitions with it looking very likely that Ronaldo will break the record in the near future.

Ronaldo’s moving up the list was revealed by the Champions League’s official Twitter account, which tweeted: “New record for Cristiano Ronaldo! Only one player in history has made more UEFA club appearances.”
