Hazard Responds to Criticism Over His Weight Following Comments from Wenger and Mikel

Eden Hazard has responded to comments over his weight following comments from former Chelsea teammate John Obi Mikel and claimed that he is in “good condition” (90min).

Earlier November, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had suggested that Hazard’s slow start to the season was down to poor conditioning.

“He became too heavy and what you read in the papers. If you want to make a horse lose a race, you put two kilos on a horse of 500kgs and it’s enough,” Wenger had said.

Hazard’s former teammate John Obi Mikel claimed that the former Chelsea star was the ‘laziest player he’s ever played alongside’.

Hazard, meanwhile, has refuted any suggestions that he was overweight when signing with Real Madrid.

He told Sky Sports, “For the last month I’ve been in good condition with no injuries. I’m in good shape. When I’m on the pitch I will always try to do my best, with Real Madrid or Belgium. I just want to keep this momentum.”
