During Sunday Night Football, Patrick Mahomes made history by surpassing one of Aaron Rodgers’ long-held NFL records. In a matchup against the Detroit Lions, Mahomes completed a six‑yard pass to Xavier Worthy late in the first quarter, and in doing so became the fastest quarterback in NFL history (including postseason games) to reach 300 career touchdown passes.
Mahomes achieved this milestone in just 139 games, eclipsing Rodgers’ previous best mark of 147 games. Before Rodgers, Dan Marino held the distinction of reaching 300 TDs in the fewest games accomplishing it in 152 with Peyton Manning trailing behind at 161 games.
At the time of the record‑setting throw, Mahomes’ 254th regular‑season touchdown tied him with Dan Fouts and Andy Dalton for 25th place on the all‑time regular season touchdown list. Ultimately, by breaking this record, Mahomes added another distinction to his growing list of career accolades further cementing his status as a generational talent in the league.
