The second round of the NCAA March Madness has wrapped up, and the Kansas Jayhawks are no longer in the tournament.
Even though the Kansas State Wildcats didn’t make the field this year, their fans still found plenty of entertainment especially watching their in-state rivals fall in dramatic fashion.
Kansas head coach Bill Self became the center of attention after St. John’s Red Storm pulled off a thrilling finish. While former Jayhawk Zuby Ejifor wasn’t the deciding factor, it was guard Dylan Darling who sealed the game with a last-second layup.
Self’s reaction summed up the moment he visibly showed his frustration by kicking the scorer’s table right after the buzzer. The emotional outburst caught many off guard, as it’s not something typically associated with the Hall of Fame coach. But with the high stakes and intensity of March basketball, emotions can spill over.
