The Milwaukee Brewers have quickly become one of baseball’s biggest surprises during the 2026 season, outperforming expectations and firmly placing themselves in the National League playoff picture. Sitting in possession of a Wild Card spot and only 2.5 games behind the division-leading Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee suddenly looks like a team that should aggressively pursue upgrades before the MLB trade deadline.
One glaring weakness continues to stand out for the Brewers shortstop. For Milwaukee, Bichette represents an obvious high-upside trade target.
Despite his slow start, Bichette’s track record speaks for itself. Throughout his career, he has consistently been one of baseball’s better offensive shortstops, routinely hitting near .290 while bringing power, postseason experience, and proven run production. A move away from the intense pressure surrounding the Mets could be exactly what the veteran infielder needs to rediscover his form.
The Brewers would immediately gain a major offensive boost by inserting Bichette into their lineup, especially considering the production they’ve lacked at shortstop.
