BREAKING NEWS:Jaylen Brown didn’t shut down playing for Hawks. What would a Celtics trade look like??????

Jaylen Brown not shutting down the idea of playing for the Atlanta Hawks naturally sparks speculation about what a blockbuster trade between the Hawks and Celtics could look like. For Boston, moving on from Brown would only make sense if the return both kept them competitive in the East and gave them future flexibility. With Jayson Tatum firmly established as the franchise cornerstone, Boston would want elite talent back to remain in championship contention, rather than a pure rebuild.

From Atlanta’s side, the starting point of any offer would likely revolve around Trae Young or Dejounte Murray, as the Celtics wouldn’t consider Brown for a package of role players and draft picks alone. A deal could see Brown heading to Atlanta in exchange for Murray, a young piece like Jalen Johnson or Onyeka Okongwu, and multiple future first-round picks. That type of return would give Boston another proven All-Star guard while adding depth and long-term assets, all while keeping the team competitive in the present.

Of course, the Celtics could push for an even bigger swing, perhaps asking if Atlanta would consider including Trae Young, pairing him with Tatum to form a new dynamic duo. While that feels less likely given the Hawks’ investment in Young, it shows just how steep Boston’s asking price would be. Any trade of Brown to Atlanta would need to balance win-now star power with enough future value to justify breaking up the NBA’s most dominant wing duo.
