News Update: Casey Alexander Lands Two New Transfers in Single-Day Haul

It was a productive day for Kansas State Wildcats men’s basketball, as new head coach Casey Alexander secured two key transfer commitments to strengthen his squad ahead of the upcoming season. Both players arrive with experience from competitive programs and are expected to play important roles immediately.

Guard Brandon Rechsteiner, previously with Colorado State Rams men’s basketball, was the first to commit. Known for his scoring and perimeter shooting, he averaged 12 points per game and shot 40% from beyond the arc last season, while also contributing as a playmaker. His skill set aligns well with Alexander’s preferred fast-paced style of play. Before his time at Colorado State, Rechsteiner spent two seasons at Virginia Tech Hokies men’s basketball, adding further depth to his collegiate experience.

Joining him is forward Dezdrick Lindsay from Oregon Ducks men’s basketball. Though his averages of 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds may seem modest, Lindsay demonstrated his potential with strong individual performances, including double-digit scoring outings against quality opponents. His length and athleticism are expected to provide a boost to Kansas State’s frontcourt rotation.

Overall, the Wildcats are actively rebuilding, with multiple outgoing players, a handful of recruits, and now three transfer additions as Alexander begins shaping his team.
