After delivering a strong performance in Auburn’s NIT championship victory over Tulsa finishing with 13 points, three rebounds, and two steals in a thrilling 92-86 overtime comeback Williams-Adams has announced he will return for his sophomore campaign.

His decision provides a major boost for head coach Steven Pearl as he prepares for his second season at the helm. The Houston native made an immediate impact as a freshman, setting a program record with 47 steals and logging 1,039 minutes, the third-most ever by a true freshman at Auburn.

Known for his versatility on defense, Williams-Adams proved capable of guarding all five positions while also contributing offensively. He recorded 10 double-digit scoring games and matched his career-high of 15 points twice during the season.

A former four-star recruit out of St. John’s School in Houston and ranked No. 12 among power forwards in the 2025 class, he appeared in all 38 games, averaging 7.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 27.3 minutes per game.

His return strengthens Auburn’s core, as he joins Kevin Overton and Simon Walker in committing to next season. Meanwhile, Filip Jovic and Kaden Magwood have entered the transfer portal, leaving some uncertainty around the roster.

The Tigers are still awaiting decisions from key contributors such as Tahaad Pettiford and Elyjah Freeman, with Pettiford coming off a strong sophomore season in which he averaged 15.4 points per game, second-best on the team.

With the transfer portal window set to close on April 21, Auburn’s roster outlook for next season is still taking shape.
