Chicago Cubs All-Star outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong gave Bears fans another reason to embrace him during the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, revealing that his passion for Chicago football stretches back to childhood and remains as strong as ever.
While being mic’d up during the Midsummer Classic, Crow-Armstrong was asked by the broadcast crew whether he had caught “Chicago Bears fever” during the team’s recent resurgence. The 24-year-old quickly made it clear that his loyalty to the franchise didn’t begin with the current excitement surrounding quarterback Caleb Williams it started years ago.
Crow-Armstrong explained that his father, a Naperville, Illinois native and lifelong Bears supporter, introduced him to the team at a young age, making the Bears a central part of his upbringing.
“Absolutely he did,” Crow-Armstrong said. “He was a huge Bears fan, so I grew up a huge Bears fan. Devin Hester was my guy. I loved Matt Forte. I still watch Devin Hester highlights. I’m a huge Bears fan through and through.”
The comments resonated with Chicago sports fans, especially given Crow-Armstrong’s growing popularity as one of the Cubs’ brightest young stars.
