The Soccer 101 event comes at a time of growing excitement around Kansas State women’s soccer following a landmark 2025 campaign that reshaped expectations for the program. In her first season as head coach, Colleen Corbin orchestrated one of the most remarkable turnarounds in school history, guiding the Wildcats to a 7-6-5 record and securing the program’s first winning season since its inception.

The breakthrough campaign saw Kansas State establish an astonishing 49 new school records, reflecting the dramatic progress made under Corbin’s leadership. Among the most significant achievements were setting new program highs for wins in a single season (7), goals scored (23), and shutouts (9). The Wildcats also displayed greater consistency on both ends of the field, producing one of the strongest defensive performances in school history while making notable strides offensively.

Kansas State now enters the 2026 season with considerable continuity and optimism, returning the majority of its offensive production from last year’s history-making squad. The Wildcats welcome back players responsible for 57 percent of the team’s total goals and 64 percent of its assists from the 2025 season, giving the coaching staff a solid foundation as it looks to build on last year’s success. The returning experience, coupled with the development of younger players and the addition of new talent, has generated confidence that the Wildcats can remain competitive and continue their upward trajectory within the conference.

With anticipation building, Kansas State Athletics has also announced that season tickets for the 2026 women’s soccer season are currently available for purchase. Fans who held season tickets during the 2025 campaign have until Friday, July 31, to renew their seats, with ticket prices remaining unchanged as part of the university’s effort to reward loyal supporters. New season ticket packages can be purchased through the K-State Athletics ticket office by calling (800) 221-CATS or by visiting the official athletics website.

The Wildcats are preparing to embark on their 11th season of intercollegiate competition, opening the 2026 schedule on Thursday, Aug. 13, against Seattle U. in Honolulu, Hawaii. The neutral-site season opener marks the beginning of what Kansas State hopes will be another milestone year as the program looks to build on its historic breakthrough and establish itself as an emerging force in collegiate women’s soccer.

As excitement continues to grow around the Wildcats, the Soccer 101 event serves as both an educational experience and a celebration of the program’s rapid rise, giving fans a unique opportunity to connect with the team before the first whistle of what promises to be an eagerly anticipated 2026 season.
