News Report: Alabama Baseball Delivered a Much-needed Lift for Tide Fans by Crushing Auburn.

Alabama baseball gave fans something to cheer about Friday night, delivering a dominant win over Auburn just as the basketball team was being knocked out of the Sweet 16 by Michigan.

While Alabama basketball struggled late and lost, the baseball team stayed hot, crushing Auburn 11–1 in a run-rule shortened game to open their weekend series in Tuscaloosa. Auburn struck first with an RBI double in the opening inning, but Alabama responded emphatically, scoring the next 11 runs.

Luke Vaughn’s two-run homer in the second inning put Alabama ahead for good. Bryce Fowler and John Lemm also went deep, helping power a 15-hit performance. Lemm sealed the blowout in the eighth inning with an RBI single that triggered the run rule.

On the mound, Fay followed up his recent no-hitter against Florida with another strong outing. He pitched five innings, giving up just one hit and one run while recording five strikeouts and three walks.

After a slow start to the season, Alabama is now on a roll. The team has won five straight games, including a sweep of Florida, a midweek victory over Austin Peay, and this commanding win over Auburn, which came into the game ranked No. 5 nationally.

Head coach Rob Vaughn praised his team’s relentless offense but emphasized that the series is far from over, noting that Auburn remains a tough opponent and will respond in the games ahead.
