Auburn has continued building momentum on the recruiting trail with another addition to its 2027 class, as the Tigers secured a commitment from three-star athlete Nasir Banks out of Georgia. The announcement came Monday night via Banks’ social media, marking another early win for head coach Alex Golesh as he balances preparations for his first season on the Plains with long-term roster construction.
While Auburn’s immediate focus remains on the 2026 campaign, the coaching staff has already shifted significant attention toward shaping its future core. Banks’ commitment represents both a talent acquisition and a strategic recruiting victory, as he hails from neighboring Georgia—one of the SEC’s most competitive talent-rich states.
The 6-foot, 180-pound standout from McEachern High School in Powder Springs chose Auburn following an official visit over the weekend, a trip that ultimately helped solidify his decision. Though rated primarily as a safety by the 247Sports Composite rankings, Auburn views him as a versatile athlete capable of contributing in multiple roles at the collegiate level.
Banks enters the recruiting database as the 1,075th-ranked player nationally in the 2027 class, ranking among the top 110 safeties and inside the top 130 players in Georgia. His commitment also strengthens Auburn’s growing pipeline with McEachern High School, as he joins teammate Nash Johnson III, a three-star cornerback who is also bound for the Tigers.
With Banks on board, Auburn’s 2027 recruiting class has expanded to 22 commitments and continues to climb national rankings, currently sitting inside the top 10 according to the 247Sports Composite. The early surge reflects strong momentum for Golesh and his staff as they work to reestablish Auburn as a consistent recruiting force in the SEC.
Even as the program builds toward the future, Auburn remains focused on delivering results in the present, aiming to reassert itself in conference competition and the College Football Playoff conversation during the upcoming season.
