During his Major League debut with the St. Louis Cardinals, rookie JJ Wetherholt made an immediate impact by blasting a solo home run turning his very first MLB hit into a memorable moment.

Facing the Tampa Bay Rays, the Cardinals found themselves trailing 7–5 in the sixth inning. Their first run of the game came courtesy of Wetherholt, who earned a spot on the Opening Day roster and was slotted as the leadoff hitter.
Remarkably, his first career hit came in just his second at-bat a home run, a rare and impressive achievement for any newcomer. Moments like this don’t happen often, making his debut even more notable.
Wetherholt had already shown promise during spring training, recording seven hits, six runs scored, two home runs, and seven RBIs in 33 at-bats across 15 games. His early performance suggested he was ready for the big stage, and he wasted no time proving it.
