Breaking News: Collin Klein brings a well-liked Former Kansas State Player onto his Wildcats Coaching Staff.

Collin Klein has added a well-known former Kansas State player to his first Wildcats coaching staff in Manhattan, according to a report by Kellis Robinett on March 6, 2026.

Joe Bob Clements, who played defensive end for Kansas State from 1994 to 1998, is returning to his alma mater as an assistant to the head coach. He will also take on responsibilities as an offensive forward scout.

Clements remains a fan favorite in Manhattan, often referred to as the “Little Apple.” During his playing days under legendary coach Bill Snyder, he was part of some of the program’s most successful teams and earned all-conference honors in his senior year. Those teams also achieved five consecutive bowl appearances.

After finishing his playing career, Clements spent nearly ten years as an assistant coach at Kansas State before joining Mike Gundy’s staff at Oklahoma State Cowboys football in 2013. While there, he frequently coached against the Wildcats.

Now, Clements is set to return to Kansas State, where he will be part of a sizable support staff assisting the football program in Klein’s first season as head coach.
