The University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine soccer team battled through difficult weather conditions Saturday but ultimately fell 3-1 to Kansas State in the final match of the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff at Lower Campus Field in Manoa.
The matchup was played as Hurricane Lala approached the Hawaiian Islands, bringing increasingly strong winds and challenging conditions to the area. Despite the deteriorating weather, officials allowed the contest to proceed, giving both teams the opportunity to complete the tournament as scheduled.
