Kentucky Basketball is continuing to expand its recruiting efforts for the 2026–27 season, and a new international name has officially entered the conversation as the Wildcats look to complete the final spots on their roster. With three scholarships still open and attention already centered on top targets like Malachi Moreno and Milan Momcilovic, the coaching staff is now casting a wider net to strengthen its backcourt depth.
According to reporting from KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Kentucky has recently been in contact with the agent of Savo Drezgic, a guard currently playing for Mega Superbet. The development signals that the Wildcats are actively exploring additional guard options as they evaluate talent capable of contributing in multiple roles at the collegiate level.
Drezgic is not an unfamiliar name in American college basketball circles. He previously spent the 2024–25 season at Georgia, gaining brief SEC experience before returning overseas to continue his development with Mega Superbet. After a strong campaign internationally, he now appears to be re-entering the NCAA recruiting landscape with growing interest from several programs.
While it is still unclear how aggressive Kentucky will ultimately be in pursuing him, the contact alone suggests that head coach Mark Pope and his staff are prioritizing backcourt versatility as they finalize the roster.
Statistically, Drezgic’s profile presents an interesting mix of past struggles and recent improvement. During his lone season at Georgia, he saw limited playing time, averaging just 2.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in 6.8 minutes per game. However, his production took a significant leap this past season with Mega Superbet, where he showcased far more offensive responsibility and confidence.
In international competition, Drezgic averaged 16.5 points per game while shooting 41.6% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range on more than six attempts per contest. He also contributed 4.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, highlighting his ability to impact multiple areas of the game as a combo guard.
With Kentucky still shaping its roster and evaluating potential fits, Drezgic has emerged as another intriguing name to watch. While no decision or commitment appears imminent, his growing profile ensures he will remain on the Wildcats’ radar as recruiting discussions continue to develop.
