The comeback began when Brandon Marsh launched a game-tying two-run homer off Nationals reliever Brad Lord after Washington had recorded the first two outs of the ninth. Momentum quickly shifted as Bryce Harper and pinch-hitter Derek Hill followed with singles, setting the stage for Bryson Stott, who crushed a go-ahead three-run homer to center field. The Phillies kept pouring on the pressure, adding a two-run double from Edmundo Sosa and an RBI single by Trea Turner to complete the stunning eight-run inning.
