The Kansas State Wildcats continue to reshape their roster under new head coach Casey Alexander, adding another international presence to a rapidly evolving lineup. The latest addition comes in the form of transfer forward Timotej Malovec, who has committed to join the Wildcats after spending last season with the Miami Hurricanes.
Malovec, a 6-foot-8, 214-pound freshman from Slovakia, brings a blend of European skill and collegiate experience to Manhattan. His commitment was first reported by his agent through NBA Draft analyst Jonathan Givony, confirming his move to Kansas State ahead of the 2026 season. In his freshman campaign at Miami, he appeared in 33 games, averaging 4.2 points and 1.3 rebounds while playing a reserve role on a team that competed in the NCAA Tournament.
One of Malovec’s key strengths is his versatility. Known for his ability to stretch the floor, he shot 33.3% from three-point range last season while also offering size and mobility that allow him to operate both inside the paint and on the perimeter. That skill set is expected to fit into Alexander’s system, which values multi-dimensional forwards who can create spacing and contribute in multiple roles.
At Kansas State, Malovec will join Serbian guard Andrej Kostic, further enhancing the team’s growing international identity. With at least two European players now on the roster, the Wildcats are continuing a trend of integrating overseas talent, a theme that has already become noticeable in recent seasons.
His arrival is part of a broader roster overhaul as Alexander works to rebuild the program ahead of his first year on the sideline. Kansas State has been highly active in the transfer portal, securing multiple commitments and nearly completing a full roster transformation. Malovec becomes one of nine incoming transfers, joining a group that also includes players from programs such as Georgetown Hoyas, LSU Tigers, and Virginia Tech Hokies.
With just a few roster spots remaining, Kansas State’s rebuilding effort is nearing completion. The Wildcats will enter the new season with a significantly reshaped roster featuring a mix of transfers, freshmen recruits, and returning players, all expected to compete for roles in Alexander’s first campaign leading the program at Bramlage Coliseum.
