Kentucky Basketball has officially learned its full SEC home-and-away opponent slate for the 2026–27 season, revealing a demanding schedule that once again positions the Wildcats in one of the most competitive conferences in college basketball. The announcement also provides an early look at a season that will feature a mix of heavyweight SEC battles and high-profile non-conference matchups designed to test Mark Pope’s squad from start to finish.
In SEC play, Kentucky will host a challenging lineup at Rupp Arena, with visits from traditional rivals and conference powerhouses including Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina. The home slate is particularly loaded, giving fans multiple marquee matchups against programs expected to contend near the top of the league.
On the road, the Wildcats face an equally daunting assignment. Trips to Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt ensure Kentucky will be tested in some of the SEC’s most hostile environments. Road games at Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma stand out as some of the most difficult challenges of the season, highlighting just how deep and competitive the conference has become.
Before SEC play even begins, Kentucky will also navigate a high-profile non-conference schedule packed with national spotlight games. The Wildcats open the season against Manhattan and James Madison at Rupp Arena before immediately stepping into elite competition against Kansas in the Champions Classic in Chicago. Additional early tests include Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium and a road trip to Virginia as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge.
Later in the season, Kentucky will continue its demanding non-conference slate with major showdowns against Louisville at Rupp Arena and North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic in New York City. Other home matchups against programs like Grambling State, Northern Arizona, Bryant, Sacred Heart, and Gardner-Webb round out the schedule.
Overall, the 2026–27 campaign shapes up as a true measuring stick season for Kentucky, featuring multiple top-tier opponents across both SEC and non-conference play. With a reloaded roster that includes new additions such as Milan Momcilovic and improved depth across the lineup, the Wildcats will have no shortage of opportunities to build an NCAA Tournament résumé and prove themselves as one of college basketball’s premier programs under Mark Pope.
