JUST IN: New York Eyes Another Victory as Momentum Builds Ahead of Rockies Clash

Riding the momentum of Bo Bichette, the New York Mets will try to extend their modest winning run on Friday night as they open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies.

Bichette has looked comfortable in the leadoff role, a timely development for New York as regular table-setter Francisco Lindor is expected to miss time due to a calf injury. The Mets are coming off a dramatic win over the Minnesota Twins, where Bichette delivered a clutch three-run double in the eighth inning to break a tie and help secure the victory.

That win came just a day after New York snapped a lengthy losing streak, though the team still showed some vulnerability by nearly giving away a sizable lead late in the game. Even so, the recent results suggest the Mets may be starting to regain some rhythm.

Bichette, who joined the team earlier this year, has begun to find his form after a slow start. He’s been hitting more consistently in recent games, and his performance at the top of the lineup has provided a boost while Lindor is sidelined.

Meanwhile, the Rockies head into the matchup after a tough loss to the San Diego Padres, where they surrendered a late lead in a high-scoring game. Despite that setback, Colorado has shown signs of improvement compared to last season, even if consistency remains an issue.

On the mound, the Mets are set to send Freddy Peralta to face Michael Lorenzen of the Rockies, with both right-handers looking to give their teams an early edge in the series opener.
