Monday night was a memorable one for the Texas Rangers, who edged the St. Louis Cardinals 2–1 while moving closer to the .500 mark with a 29–31 record. The night also carried personal significance for ace Jacob deGrom, who reached a major career milestone by securing his 100th win. In the process, he became just the 14th active MLB pitcher to hit the century mark, doing so in dominant fashion with five shutout innings and eight strikeouts.

As expected, the Rangers turned the clubhouse into a celebration zone after the win, with the traditional beer shower quickly following deGrom’s achievement. Joc Pederson, one of the more animated presences in the dugout, made sure he didn’t miss the moment—and later shared a humorous take on it.

“That’s why he’s a multiple Cy Young winner. His 100th win—I think I’ve got to get inside to help with the beer shower. We got to wrap it up,” Pederson joked, via Victory TV on X.

The comment highlighted both the excitement of the moment and Pederson’s enthusiasm for joining in the team’s celebrations as deGrom was doused in beer in honor of his milestone night.

Pederson’s involvement in the celebration carried extra weight given his recent turnaround with the bat. After struggling through a rough 2025 season in which he posted a .613 OPS, and starting slowly again in 2026, the veteran slugger has since rediscovered his form. Since May 7, he has been on a tear, producing a 1.041 OPS and delivering key offensive contributions.

On Monday, he added to that resurgence with a clutch RBI single in the fifth inning, a hit that ultimately proved decisive after the Cardinals briefly threatened in the sixth. His timely production helped ensure that deGrom’s strong outing translated into a win.

While pitcher wins are often dependent on run support and bullpen help, the Rangers did just enough to back their ace on a night of milestone achievement. Between deGrom’s 100th victory and Pederson’s spirited clubhouse presence, the win added another layer of momentum to a Rangers team looking to build consistency moving forward.
