The Philadelphia Phillies could have a major decision to make in the outfield this offseason, and one prominent prediction has identified a proven Seattle Mariners All-Star as the potential answer.
For several seasons, Philadelphia has searched for a dependable right-handed-hitting outfielder who could provide consistent production rather than simply serving as a platoon option. The Phillies have experimented with different combinations, but they still have not found the ideal long-term solution. With the club continuing to view itself as a legitimate postseason contender, adding a veteran impact bat could become one of the biggest priorities of the offseason.
That is where Randy Arozarena enters the picture.
Arozarena viewed as a perfect Phillies fit
A recent projection from Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter has the Phillies signing Arozarena during the upcoming offseason. The prediction centers on Philadelphia’s ongoing need for a right-handed outfield bat and suggests that the Mariners star could slide directly into the middle of the Phillies’ lineup.
The fit is easy to understand.
Arozarena would give Philadelphia another experienced hitter capable of changing a game with his power, speed and ability to create offense in multiple ways. Rather than relying primarily on platoon production from players such as Derek Hill and Bryan De La Cruz, the Phillies could potentially add an established everyday outfielder with an extensive track record at the major-league level.
Reuter believes Arozarena would fit “perfectly” into the middle of Philadelphia’s batting order, giving the Phillies another dangerous weapon alongside their existing collection of star hitters.
Arozarena brings power and speed
At 31 years old, Arozarena would not simply be a short-term gamble on potential. He has already established himself as one of the more recognizable offensive players in baseball.
The Mariners outfielder is a three-time All-Star, including selections in each of the previous two seasons. His 2026 campaign has further demonstrated why he could attract significant attention if he reaches free agency.
According to the figures cited in the original report, Arozarena has produced 22 home runs, 21 stolen bases, a .272 batting average and an .833 OPS, while accumulating 4.5 bWAR.
That combination of power and speed is particularly attractive for Philadelphia.

Phillies have lacked a true everyday right-handed outfielder
