
Today marks the 53rd birthday of former goaltender Mike Lenarduzzi, born on September 14, 1972. Lenarduzzi began his hockey journey at the junior level, suiting up for the Markham Waxers during the 1988–89 season in Junior B. His talent in net quickly drew attention, leading him to advance to the Ontario Hockey League, where he guarded the crease for the Oshawa Generals.
Playing in Oshawa gave Lenarduzzi the chance to develop his skills among some of the top junior players in the country at the time. Known for his size and ability to stay composed under pressure, he became a reliable presence in goal. His years with the Generals helped pave the way for future opportunities in hockey, both at the professional and competitive levels.
