One fan even analyzed a video involving Mark Pope, trying to link it to a supposed Kentucky decision.

Stokes, however, responded directly, dismissing the speculation and making it clear he is focused on making a thoughtful decision. He emphasized that, as an 18-year-old facing a life-changing choice, the process involves more than outside noise or financial considerations. His reaction suggested that the intense scrutiny and pressure from fans could actually have the opposite effect.

In fact, this kind of public pressure may push Stokes away from Kentucky and closer to Kansas, where the environment could feel less overwhelming. For the Jayhawks, landing Stokes is becoming increasingly critical.

Kansas has already been hit hard by roster turnover, including multiple transfer portal departures and players leaving for the NBA or exhausting eligibility. With no returning starters expected next season, Self is in urgent need of a cornerstone recruit to rebuild the team.
