The Philadelphia Phillies may have another opportunity to pursue one of baseball’s most electric relief pitchers if the San Diego Padres decide to become sellers ahead of the 2026 MLB trade deadline.
After being heavily linked to Mason Miller before his blockbuster move from the then-Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia could once again emerge as a serious contender for the flamethrowing closer should San Diego make him available in the coming weeks.
Phillies were longtime admirers of Miller
The Phillies have monitored Miller’s development for several seasons, with trade speculation connecting the club to the hard-throwing right-hander long before he was eventually dealt by Oakland.
