Since taking over the dugout, Mattingly has helped guide the club back into contention, restoring confidence that Philadelphia remains a legitimate threat in the National League playoff race.
However, despite the recent surge, the Phillies may now face one of their biggest roster challenges of the season following the devastating injury suffered by veteran outfielder Adolis García.
The organization recently announced that García was placed on the 60-day injured list after suffering a torn right lat muscle, an injury that could potentially keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season. In response, the Phillies promoted outfielder Gabriel Rincones Jr. from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, but many around baseball believe the team will need a much larger solution if it hopes to remain a World Series contender.

One name that continues to emerge as a potential target is Minnesota Twins star Byron Buxton.
