Jake Burger powered the Texas Rangers’ strong run of home hitting with a standout performance, helping them stay hot at the plate on the road.

The Rangers improved to 9–7 with an 8–1 win over the Athletics in the first game of a four-game series between two teams that began tied atop the AL West. Continuing a recent trend, Texas hit at least one home run in its fourth consecutive road game something they’ve struggled to do at Globe Life Field early this season.
Burger led the charge by smashing two home runs in the first three innings, giving Texas an early 4–0 advantage. His first came in the opening inning after Luis Severino walked Evan Carter and Corey Seager; Burger then crushed a 96-mph sinker 417 feet for a three-run shot. He followed up in the third inning with another homer, this time a solo blast off a 97-mph sinker.
His performance brought the Rangers’ total to eight home runs over their four-game road trip so far. Even in their loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, Texas hit three homers from Corey Seager, Wyatt Langford, and Evan Carter. Langford’s first of the season led to a minor quad strain that has kept him sidelined since.
Brandon Nimmo added two home runs in Saturday’s loss, while Carter went deep again on Sunday to help Texas avoid a sweep.
Burger’s big night pushed the Rangers to 17 home runs on the road this season an average of nearly two per game compared to just two total at home so far.
Texas sealed the win with four runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Josh Smith and a two-run double by Josh Jung. Meanwhile, pitcher Nathan Eovaldi delivered a dominant outing, throwing seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, two walks, and only three hits allowed.
