Kansas State soccer freshman Emma Torres-Brache has achieved a major milestone in her young career after receiving a selection to represent the Dominican Republic Senior Women’s National Team at the upcoming 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. The prestigious tournament will take place from July 24 through August 8 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, bringing together some of the region’s top national teams.
Torres-Brache’s call-up marks an important accomplishment for the talented midfielder, who has quickly emerged as one of the promising young players within the Kansas State soccer program. The opportunity allows her to compete on an international stage while representing her country against some of the best teams in the region.
The Dominican Republic has been drawn into Group A for the tournament and will begin its campaign with a matchup against El Salvador on Wednesday, July 29, at Estadio Moca 85. The team will then face Costa Rica on Friday, July 31, at Estadio Cibao FC, before closing out group play against Venezuela on Sunday, August 2, at Estadio Moca 85.
Following the group stage, the top two teams from both Group A and Group B will advance to the semifinal round scheduled for Tuesday, August 4. The tournament will conclude with the championship match and third-place contest on Thursday, August 6, as teams compete for medals and regional recognition.
Torres-Brache enters the competition with an impressive soccer background. The Miramar, Florida, native attended American Heritage School, where she played a key role in one of the nation’s most successful high school programs. During her prep career, she helped lead American Heritage to four consecutive Florida High School Activities Association state championships and contributed to the team earning a No. 1 national ranking by MaxPreps in 2025.
As an attacking midfielder, Torres-Brache displayed consistent offensive production throughout her high school career, recording more than 10 goals and over 20 assists. Her combination of technical ability, creativity, and playmaking skills made her one of the standout recruits in her class and helped her earn the opportunity to continue her development at Kansas State.
The international recognition comes during an exciting period for the Wildcats soccer program. Kansas State finished the 2025 season with the first winning record in program history, marking a significant step forward for the team under head coach Mike Corbin. During Corbin’s first season leading the program, the Wildcats established 49 program records, including new marks for wins in a season (seven victories), goals scored (23 goals), and shutouts (nine).
The Wildcats are also returning a strong portion of their offensive production from the historic 2025 campaign. The team brings back players responsible for 57 percent of its total goals and 64 percent of its assists, providing optimism for continued progress heading into the 2026 season.
After gaining valuable experience during her first collegiate season, Torres-Brache will now have the opportunity to further develop her skills while competing internationally against elite opponents. Her selection to the Dominican Republic national team represents another achievement for both the player and the growing Kansas State soccer program.
Kansas State will begin its 11th season of competition in 2026, officially opening the campaign on Thursday, August 13, against Seattle University in Honolulu, Hawaii. With returning talent and emerging players like Torres-Brache continuing to gain recognition, the Wildcats enter the new season with increased expectations and momentum.
