The New York Rangers are expected to be one of the most active teams heading into the 2026 offseason after another underwhelming campaign that led to a partial roster retool. As the Rangers evaluate ways to reshape their forward group, attention has turned toward Vancouver Canucks winger Jake DeBrusk, who has emerged as a notable trade or acquisition target in league-wide discussions. Analysts believe he could be a strong fit for a Rangers team in need of consistent goal-scoring depth beyond its top line.

Mercogliano, DeBrusk stands out as a potential middle-six upgrade capable of adding finishing ability and offensive consistency.
